Let’s Eat Together! Support Your Child & Their School

This school year, we’re encouraging all parents to inspire their children to enjoy meals in the school cafeteria! Our meals are not only tasty, balanced, and kid-approved, they help students stay energized, focused, and ready to learn.

Even better? When students eat in the cafeteria, it helps support not just the school lunch program, but other important school programs too, like classroom resources, extracurriculars, and activities that enrich your child’s school experience.

It’s a simple choice that makes a big difference! Let’s team up to make lunchtime a joyful, healthy, and meaningful part of every school day.

What this contract means for GCSD?:

-ALL current George County School District Child Nutrition Department workers will have the option to remain employed by Chartwells with an improved salary and benefit package. No employee will lose their job.

-ALL students will still eat free breakfast and lunch for the 2023-2024 school year.

-Chartwells has extensive buying power, which will allow us to provide a wider variety and higher quality of food options for our students.

Why Chartwells?

1.    They have unmatched purchasing power. They can get the highest quality products at the best value. They have the power to minimize supply chain disruptions and inflation.

2.    Due to that purchasing power, they are able to listen to the needs of the students, staff, administrators, parents and community through surveys, focus groups, Principal Scoreboards, and technology based feedback options.
