Federal Programs
The George County School District receives federal funds to support and to enhance the educational programs of the district. The guiding themes of federal law shape how federal funds for programs under Titles I, II, and V are used to help improve instruction for all students:
- High standards for all students and everything working together to help all students reach those standards
- A strong focus on teaching and learning
- Partnerships among families, communities, and school that support student achievement to high standards
- Resources targeted to areas of greatest need, in amounts sufficient to make a difference
The Consolidated Federal Programs Application is developed each spring by a planning committee made up of administrators, teachers, parents, and community members. Program planning is data-driven with information obtained from test scores, surveys, classroom observations, and other data sources. If you would be interested in serving on this committee for the coming year, please contact Federal Programs Director at 601-947-6993.
